Our Mothers Plea Poem by marian johnson

Our Mothers Plea

Spring is here, it's time to cheer.
Blooming flowers covering the ground,
Please take a moment and have a look around.
It's been a year since you've seen this here!
Smell their sweetness, this season's natural scent.
Appreciate all the time that I've spent
Mending my gardens for you to explore.
I'm inviting you; please take time to have a tour.
The grass will become a lush green, the flowers will bloom.
If you let me,
I can surround you with beauty but you have to make room.
Fly a kite with me,
Swim in my sea.
Listen to my roar
As you sit on my shore.

For this season will change in the blink of an eye.
It won't take long for my masterpiece to die.
I'll move on and the leaves will change,
Hurry and take a look, the foliage will soon be out of range!
It's followed by the cold,
The trees will be bare
And I'll begin to wonder if you even care?

Appreciate me and all that I give.
I ask of you to please let me live.
The toxins you produce will cause me to die.
It's inevitable and every day, somewhere, I cry.
The raindrops you feel are my tears pouring down,
Please take a moment, please have a look around!
I am amazing, I'm a necessity
For you to survive you must take care of me.

Give love and respect to our Mother Earth.
Please understand her own self worth.
