Our Saviors Poem by Aryn James

Our Saviors

Do we realize how lucky we are?
Although we got caught by our parents for what we did that one horrific night,
We are still lucky.
They don’t turn us in,
They don’t judge us.
They just love us.

Even if we snuck out that one night,
Or said that one forbidden word,
It’s not the end of the world,
Our world maybe,
But we can recreate our world like molding clay
Folding it into the shape we want.

Thanks to our saviors of course.
They are the ones who teach us, guide us, and are there for us.
No matter how many countless times we push them out our teenage doors,
Or tell them we hate them.
We all know that they are our only loves at this age.

So thanks saviors,
I will try my best to try to be your savior too,
I will try to teach you things like you teach us,
I just wish I could put my gratitude into words.
