Out Of My Body Poem by susette varga

Out Of My Body

As i lay in my bed
At the point of sleep
A strange sensation
Crept up on me

Flat on my back
I am paralysed
I feel my body
Start to rise

Slowly uplifted
I am rising higher
Heading toward
My bedroom door

Startlingly aware of pictures
That hang on my walls
And even a spider
On it's web

My heart is racing
As my front door opens
Still i float slowly
Outward
Approaching the sky

Outside is windy
I see leaves circling
Looks like i'm watching
An old western movie

Feeling so peaceful
Enjoying the ride
So very aware of the stars
And cold air

High in the sky
I begin to wonder
Who guides me here?

I'm suddenly falling
Panic attacks me
Still paralysed
Still flat on my back

Sensing fear
What can i do?
Falling falling
Faster and faster
Wish it would stop

Abruptly
Now back in bed
My skin my hair
Soaking wet

Was it a dream?
It cannot be
As i know for sure
I was not asleep

Out of my body
Is where i did go
Why?
Will i ever know?

Did spirit guides lead me?
Allowing me to see
Another world
Only special to me

If only i knew
for certainty
However i'm sure
That they were with me
