Out Of This Memory Poem by Alyssa Ray

Out Of This Memory

You tell me something
I really didn't want to hear
I tell myself to deny it
But he's telling the truth
He promises me something
I tell him to try
He's as broken as me
He's cold now
His eyes become black
He wants to shed the same tears
That I do
It's hard for us now
I want to step out
I don't want this to happen
I need to be out of this memory
I can't breath now
It's been silent for too long
I cuddle up close to him
He looks down and tries to give me a reassuring smile
I try to hide my face more
He knows
He doesn't want me to feel this way
But he can't form the words he wants to
He's afraid of ruining what we have
I keep myself next to him
For as long as I could
Until this burning memory
Disappears
Until I'm out;
Out of this memory
