Out Quite A Distance - Poem by J. James Martinez

Out quite a distance
On the city limits
Down
Under the tall buildings
Of a corrupt metropolis
She lives
She hides

Out quite a distance
Under the palm trees
Down
On the shore
In the salted air
She runs
She hides

Out quite a distance
On the city limits
Down
Under the skyscrapers
Of a corrupt metropolis
She lives
She hides

Out of reach

Out of mind

Mine...

And her own
