Pain And Tragedy Poem by Roschell Morgan

Pain And Tragedy

My heart is heavy, my soul is drained,
I don't know how I have remained.
Through the tragic times that I have seen,
When I look back, it all seems obscene.
Why does one soul go through so much,
And others go on living without a touch?
It seems there's never an even score,
Why do some suffer that much more?
I don't understand why it has to be this way,
Why some go free as the other ones pay?
When there are so many choices to make,
Why do just a few feel all the heartache.
When there are a million from which to pick,
Why only a few lives will end up this tragic.
If there was a way to make things fair,
The happiness and tragedy all would share.
I only ask to put my mind at ease,
Help me with an answer for that, please
Is it right for the world to go on carefree,
With just a few experiencing it painfully?
I don't believe many of you have thought,
What tragedy exists that others have fought.
If you haven't experienced what breaks your will,
Why could you comprehend how they really feel?
