Pain Hostage, I Regret Poem by Satish Verma

Pain Hostage, I Regret

Let us go to search
sleep after drawing a tree near the river
to drink the empty glass of hemlock.

A feeling crawls on
the bed of rose petals and thorns. Love
and betrayal exist. No confessional sparks.

The almost faith that
leaves your footprints for the tigers
to catch us. But I was sailing on clouds.
