Painted On Smiles Poem by Cassandra Hooper

Painted On Smiles

A painted on smile
Glassy far away eyes
A corrupted strenghtless heart
Weakened from the lies
A wish for peace
A sickening plea for death
A pained expression
Born from another pained breath
A look out the window
A sudden thought of flight
Or maybe of the awful things
You tried to do last night
Hands shaking as you type
As you try to calm your heart
Try to take steady breaths
Before you fall apart
Because everyone can see right through
Everyone is looking at you
You can tell you see it too
Now what are you going to do
