Pairs Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Pairs

Have you ever noticed how some things come in pairs?
If one is without the other…it is singularly at odds
The duality that they share expresses completeness
The partnership they have gets a thumbs up and nods

It only seems natural that they stand or sit side by side
Catsup and mustard…red and yellow…tasty condiments
Salt and pepper…S & P…in shakers where they reside
Squeezed or sprinkled…adding flavorful compliments

Shoes and boots… protecting young growing feet
Mittens or gloves keeping hands from freezing harm
Hoops or studs…clamped or pierced… pretty earrings
Enhancing lobes…adding sparkle and dazzling charm

All these things seem to be better when properly paired
Excellence is achieved when their mission is shared
