Palestinians Poem by Harlan Simantel

Palestinians

palestinians
despised often
in some american
and israeli eyes

stepped on -
less than -
the 'chosen ones'

but the king of israel
in heaven
feels for the oppressed stranger
the outcast
the downtrodden
home-razed
displaced

there is no favorite race!
only determined justice
eventual peace
and spiritual grace

...eventually

send jesus the lion!
to that God-forsaken place

the last shall be first
no more peace-hungry thirst

kumbaya
my lord
kumbaya!
