Paranoia Agent Poem by Michael Matsuda

Paranoia Agent

The stars fade into the daylight.
The sun rises as time is lost
and the stars leading the way home
are hidden.

As sure as the day fades
so does your smile

As you stand in the middle
of this crowd
notice that everyone
has an agenda

As different as snowflakes
people are unique
However, just like the snowflake
over time it melts
and then all is lost

Are you out of your mind! ?

The flame in your heart
will be reduced
to a mere flicker
then to a billow of smoke
Forever cold

As I freeze
my limbs go numb
Frozen in time isn't so bad
I get cold and
you get cold
This winter may last
forever...

Let this time stand
freeze the second
to the minute hand
these days will forever
turn to twilight

Time is a scary thing
Maybe I don't want to go...

So please forgive me
if you would
I would rather
stand as still as this
forsaken silhouette I cast
As the day hits my body
This heat, not warmth is
Sapping all I have left
Yet I am still shivering

My vision blurred
All the colors of the world
then bled before me
the last thing I saw
was black

Transparent doppelganger
create an immortal distraction
Maybe we'll be forgotten
as the world falls apart...

Watch the world....

-I saw a dream. 夢 を 見 た ん だ
-What kind of dream was it? ど ん な 夢
-I don't know.
-You can't remember it?
-Though I've had that dream many times. But once I wake up, I don't remember it.

This writing is a result of me waking up in a cold sweat. Not necessarily remembering what I had dreamt about I began writing on a piece of paper without realizing what I had been composing. all of this is the result before I could tame my gasp to a steady exhale.
