Passing Days Poem by Jan E Smith

Passing Days

Rating: 3.5

Do you feel the weight of each
and every single passing day?
After all the lessons learned,
is there time enough to play?

But the lesson's unclear,
or I just may not hear.
Please explain it again to me.
My friend I fail to see.
Just who am I to be?

We live and give and give and live,
getting older every day.
Rushing through our lifes my friend,
letting moments slip away.

But the lesson's unclear,
or I just may not hear.
Please explain it again to me.
My friend I fail to see.
Just who am I to be?

The time goes on and on my friend,
Where does the time all go?
If asked what lessons we did learn
Would we say that we don't know?

But the lesson's unclear,
or I just may not hear.
Please explain it again to me.
My friend I fail to see.
Just who am I to be?

As I cross the roads ahead of me
and I see the final door
Will I be the person I should be
or what is left in store?

But the lesson's unclear,
or I just may not hear.
Please explain it again to me.
My friend I fail to see.
Just who am I to be?
