Pastel Yellow Poem by Nephellie Reeves

Pastel Yellow

Soft kisses, the taste of vanilla that still lingers on your lips
The golden sun shining on a place you've never been in a time you've never known
And somehow in your heart you know you're home
Daffodils swaying in the wind by the worn road not often travelled
And dandelions dotting the plain of nature's truth
Coiled words, stitched, leather-bound on a shelf collecting dust
Powdered dreams long cast aside with all your youth
Aged parchment still crisp from Novembers long gone
Curled at the edges from last month's April rain
It tastes like dawn and yet a hearts forgotten pain
Reminiscent of a love that never was
