Pawns Of Fate Poem by ritty patnaik

Pawns Of Fate

god!
give me strength
to bear it all,
till the curtain falls.

life is a game,
death be a reality,
but here we are
pawns of fate,
trying our luck
making unsure moves
losing always to you.

but somehow in pain
there is joy.
i see you then
picking me up,
from the garbage
that is life.

now, i am sure
you are HIM
looking at me,
from within!

Yes, this is what those ancient Greeks had always said! We are mere pawns in the hands of Fate! The Egyptians too were preoccupied, with thoughts of 'death' and an after- life! But later civilizations focused on this God-given life; tried to make the best of it and to survive! That's how the Sumerrians gave us the cuniform writing script and the Wheel! The Roman's their Raods and their Laws, and the British taught us the value of dicscipline & unity! Thanks Ritty for provoking my thoughts, I will try to use them later on! For your poem 10!
