Peace Poem by Hans Raj Sharma

Peace

Prayer
Praying for safety
Safety of mankind
From evil spirits
Engulfed by
Immature words
From hot beds
Beds of thoughts
Brawny or frail
Spreading
Fragrance of
Malice widespread
Showering wraths
Piercing
Pleasant wild winds
Freezing
Mind and heart
Cutting mouthful
Bites of human flesh
Confusing
The common man
Over and out
Needs remedy.

‘Pranayama'
A deep prayer
Meditating
Upon breathing
Restraining
The evil spirits
Mandating
To inhale-
A divine breath
Divine strength
Knowledge
And will-power divine
To act or react
With wit and wisdom
Exhaling-
The filth from inside
Inside fear and death
Disease and devilish all.

Meditation
A yogic prayer
An exercise spiritual
Physical or mental
Exterminating
The evil spirits
Purifying-
Impurities of mind
Body and soul.

Key to peace
Survives
In begging pardon
Of those hurt
Hurt during the course
By act and conduct
Furthermore
In absolving
All the grouses
Against the ones
Held and cherished
Since long
So as to keep
The peace profound.
