Peace And Piety Poem by Hans Raj Sharma

Peace And Piety

Any age, any time
Being a good time
To begin with-
For poignant logic
For any belief system
And taking humour
In its right context.
Saving humanity
Against sufferings
Curing mind-maladies
Using mental-filters
And music melodies.

Fancying the world
Looking forward
A word or two
Of invaluable advice-
From an avid enthusiast
Follower or a critic
Of the nature and truth
Travelling thousands
Of miles and miles-
While motionless in sleep
Dreaming of heaps and heaps.

Passing through thoroughness
Of deserts and wastelands
Wilderness and barren regions
Crossing the rivers and valleys
The jungles and plains.
Climbing, the hills and mountains
Through the un-trodden paths
Making long sea journeys
To distant lands with a motive
To help the mankind and so on.

Teaching and preaching
The ideals-
Of love and compassion
Of equality and fraternity
Of reconciliation and reunion
Of calm, peace and piety.
