Peace Poem by Bishnu Parida

Peace

All through the passage of human civilization
we find,
War has made us fall,
and devastated
But peace has put us on the path of progress and prosperity.

Peace starts with love in heart
But ends when we divide and differ on philosophies, ideologies,
religions, castes, colors and cultures...

Miserably, in the present world
We complain a society of intolerance,
a society devoid of peace
Because, we badly lack fellow feeling
with co-residents in our neighborhood
with co-passengers in a public transport
with colleagues in our work places,

If we can not cooperate with each other
If we do not have love and mutual respect among us
Keeping aside, partisan squabbles, religious bigotry, self aggrandizement..
We cannot coexist peacefully,
On this beautiful earth.

To keep up peace, therefore,
Let us take vows,
Let us be friends
And never be foes.
