Unity Poem by Bishnu Parida

Unity

Love is the word that unites us
Hatred does divide and sends us apart
When united, our happiness we share
Being divided, we fall to sorrow's glare

Devoid of our love for other religions,
We fall prey to futile bigotry
Infighting among us leads to violence
And colossal loss of human lives

Differences come up in our process of living
In social, racial and political fields
Lacking in mutual respect, brotherhood and fellow feeling,
We succumb to the heinous bloodshed it yields

Shameless is it to call us civilized
Like the aborigines we do in-fight
Only love and trust can bind us to unity,
And enjoy the peace and the bliss of eternity.
