Peace For Christmas Poem by Marilyn Lott

Peace For Christmas

Christmas once again on our block
Booted and furred carolers singing
Out in the dark frosty evening air
Oh listen, I hear the bells ringing

We find a Santa on duty at the mall
A cheerful wide smile on his face
Ready to greet all the children
As they crawl into the tiny Santa space

Lights decorate the world right now
Makes you smile just to look and see
The spirit and the joy that folks have
As they decorate their special Christmas tree

Our world is transformed at this time of year
It doesn’t matter if you’re eighty or two
We can set sadness and worries aside
Before starting a year anew

But the best thing I think we can wish for
Is that the holiday feeling is just a start
And this spirit will stay with us always
Peace and love will live on in our hearts!
