Peace Is A Mockingbird Poem by Santosh Bakaya

Peace Is A Mockingbird

Peace is a mockingbird singing from a tree
But alas, goes into hiding
When Goliaths come riding, riding
Striding on their high horses
Of megalomania vain.
Its soothing cadences are lost
When Goliaths savage and ravage
Pillaging mercilessly, grabbing and looting
Bullying and tooting their bugle of victory.
But the mockingbird still sings on
Meaning no harm
Charmingly singing its heart out
Lost in its own world of melody sweet

Why can't we let the poor mocking bird sing
Letting its note of peace ring?
Why?
