Peace On Earth (Not Really) Poem by Rik Bertrand

Peace On Earth (Not Really)

I am confused, at a dead end; I am at a loss,
It is as if this world has renewed the holocaust.
What has become of peace on earth?
What has become of our true worth?

Abandoned by all that is right, a mere sacrifice,
Cornered in a world that has thrown faulty dice.
There is no escape, no turning the cheek, no winning hand,
Only life wandering across this now lifeless land.

Praise be, to those who were cowards in our cause,
For you have thrown our future into hell, my applause.
Wasted lives, tragedies unfurled, children thrown to the wolves.
Unkind warriors thought to be heroes, trampling all with their horses hoofs.

I have seen it all and I want to rise up and conquer the evil,
I want to be one of many to the turn the tides of this upheaval.
Let us gather our courage down inside our souls
And crush this evil and the power it holds.

Stand tall and face forward, devour the cowards of degradation,
Destroy their worth, their existence with full aspiration.
Drag peace on earth back into the realms of reality,
By honoring all those that are true and condemning brutality.

I loved this poem it is so sad but true. Earth is over only angels can change it back it depresses me how the world is now. Why do we live in a world of fear.
