Peace/Ploughshares Poem by Victor Adex

Peace/Ploughshares

There will always be grievances
War is the raging darkness
Hungry for a slice of the human soul
It is Thirsty To be drunk on the blood of innocent men

The bar has been lowered and welded tight
crushing the broken bended back of peace
This bar Is not war, this bar is oppression
No justice! no peace!

But There can bepeace
There would be peace
There would be tranquility
If the least of us is treated as equal
If none of us still grows numb and hungry
Rightly Discontented of his disinherited rights
There would be peace

I wonder if the cost of our freedom
Requires this unending and vicious circle inhumanity,
To one another!
How low we have fallen
Have we no dignity for human life?
Nothing justifies the sacrifice of human life
On the double faced crippled altar of unjust wars!

Deaths doesn't always bring revolutions
But mere graphical images to appease our blood lust
War has evolved and Oppression has metamorphosed
Multi headed hydra wearing different masks and different skins

If the aim of war is peace
Then let us sort our grievances in the knighthood of love
We have learnt to chart the stars better than birds
We have learnt to swim the oceans better than whales
Why can we learn to love better than brothers

Let Us Beat our Swords into Plowshares
On the fertile farmland of mother earth
In the Brocken embittered bomb blown blood bearing baga
And Upon the wailing plateau of jos
Let us beat our swords in plowshares

The voice of the people is the voice of god
So: In the desolate rubles of the isreali-pakistani state
In the war driven holy lands of Syria
On the enraged soil of motherland cursed and soiled
With sacred blood
Let the voice of the god speak peace!

But before all men become free
Let us find tranquility in the serenity of nature
Let us find peace in the beauty of broken hearts
But Before all men are free,
Let us Keep a spArk of fuzzy peace
Through the this wintery wave of weathered violence

Let us Keep peace springing high and budding open, flowing
Through our voyage of the deserts of oppression
But Before all men are free
Let us Keep the unquenchable fire of soul force
Let us Add our voices to god's call for peace
And let us beat our swords into plowshare
Peace!
