Penelopes Poem(Gone Forever, I Have Waited) - Poem by Fiona Tosh

Gone forever, I have waited
Suitors come for me, I turn them down
All these years I think about him
These men say that I'm a clown

Gone forever, I have waited
Years go by, here I still stand
Waiting for the door to open
Waiting still to see my man

Gone forever, I have waited
Now he has just reappeared
How can I be sure his is mine
Do I know he is me dear

Gone forever, I have waited
There is a way to really know
Is he my husband finally home
I talk and the truth now shows

Gone forever, I have waited
My dear blessed me like a dove
Here he is, my one and only
Here he is, me truest love
