People In The Hall Poem by Alyssa Rieper

People In The Hall

Rating: 4.0

I run my fingers along the wall
And watch a person stride the hall
Walking along, humming a song
And gaze the hallway that seems too long
My purpose to taste, to take up space
To lose a moment is too much to waste
Pushing silhouettes of anonymous faces
Bags unzipped, untied shoe laces
It's hard to remember at thought so small
When we were just two people in the hall
