Purple Sky Snow Poem by Alyssa Rieper

Purple Sky Snow

On the day of the wedding
The ceremony ran long
The church walls towered high
And the last man applauded from beyond the rooftop
Tears froze and unfroze in the breath of the public
While the car exhaust trailed streams of pollution
Rice and snow rained from the purple sky
And the crowd departed in jubilee and jealousy
