Perfect End - Poem by Gordon Jerome

As I gaze out upon a sea of blue green
Stretching out to meet a sunset of gold
Such is its beauty that shines so serene
It brings a tear to these eyes growing old
Tiki torches now lit we welcome the night
As they flicker in the soft ocean breeze
A sky filled with stars a wondrous sight
As they twinkle above the tall palm trees
With sand under foot I stand on the beach
A tiny silhouette against a backdropp of sea
Where serenity itself appears within reach
As a soothing calm engulfs the all of me
From deep within I release a tranquil sigh
All of my troubles seem to just drift away
Allowing my spirit to climb to the sky
A perfect ending for such a perfect day.
“closing thought”
There is nothing so precious as your own piece of mind
And the tranquility within it you are destined to find
