Perfect Storm Poem by David Wheeldon

Perfect Storm

A flash of neon light splits the darkness of night
a distant rumbling signals the coming of a storm
Electrifying strobes bringing out the hidden shadows
rooftops alight and showing the glazed look left by
the start of a steady rainfall
glass condensed as the beads of rain
cascades down the window pain
The body shaking sound of thunder clashing
loudly sending battering pounding rain down
hitting the concrete like bricks
Bright flashes of a multi colour light
continue
As the storm lingers on through the night.
