Persuasion Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Persuasion

Wait a minute, hold the bus…
I'm on my way to meet
a very important person…
don't want to blister my feet

He has a position of distinction...
he has a very busy schedule
His calendar is full as it can be...
Can't be late…that's it in a capsule

You say I need a ticket
Are you kidding…I said with a grin
I am exempt from such silliness
I never pay…many times I've been

People are getting angry…
They also have places to go
The driver is turning blue
as he promptly says… No!

Here I sit at the curb
I am inhaling an exhaust trail
After an attempt to ride for free…
My tactics were to no avail
