Living ‘In Fear' of The Lord

Living ‘In Fear' of the Lord is just mental,
Living ‘In Fear' says that your heart is dis-eased,
And that you like so many before you
Live in fear that your God is not pleased.

But your God loves you though you're ‘born a sinner, '
And His Love continues though you live in sin,
Pleasing God is not really an answer,
For God's Love is not something YOU WIN.

Yes, in Christ Jesus we find a new focus
And we are not bound by Old Testament Days,
And the Truth of the old way of thinking
Must now yield to New Covenant Ways.

Lord, by my liege, You've a weird sense of humor,
Man's whole life is homeless from birthday to grave
It's just Your Grace that comes to our rescue
Even our souls are not ours to save .

Wise men all striving to deserve your mercy,
Hours spent counting angels on head of a pin,
Some way to raise ourselves above others,
Demons that search for some kind of spin.
 
Your Law through all time was given to show us,
That man cannot possibly live in Your Way,
So many people died complete failures,
Heaven is always under you sway.

Does Grace cover us if we are not laughing,
Who must trust in faith that we've immortal souls?
And share with Christ Your path can be painful,
Denying self for heavenly goals.

Help us to trust Lord the joy of Your Presence
And help us to fathom our place in Your air
Living in faith, bestow us new mercies
As we live to show others You care.
