Phenomenally Done Poem by Joshua Burgos

Started off happy
with laughs and smiles
started off close but
the distance turned into miles


Said we would
always be forever
Now there's not a chance
you would see us together


Said she would
leave me never
Then why do I have
this Dear John letter


In the letter it states
forever we remain apart
It was hard to read due
to the blood stains from my broken heart


As I read my vision
became blurry
My head started hurting
due to thoughts coming in a flurry


Had to prepare myself
for why she said goodbye
But I wasn't prepared
for what the letter would notify


It states she had found
comfort in a new
I became green with envy
but my soul became blue


As I read on she
gave me her list of reasons
I took a sigh as
I read her words of treason


She stated as you
tried to give me everything
He was capable to
give me anything

As we were caught up
in your dream
He was reality and
now your chances are gleam


To have me once again
in your arms
Your luck has ran out
for I am no longer your charm


Instead of my love
you became a chore
Made us a battlefield
but no one wins this war


As I bring this
letter to an end
Just remember you
will never see me again


Realizing the pain
of what I read
Many thoughts started
to form in my head


Began to think the
whole time was a lie
Try to hold back
but its so hard not to cry


It seems her battle
was finally won
The task of breaking my
heart and it was phenomenally done.....
