Phoenix Poem by Arko Chakraborty

Phoenix

Far and far and far
As the oceans lay bare
Bubbling and boiling with Fire,
Currents of Chemicals and Acids
Roaring along and devouring everything.

Bits and bits of Land
Of Ashes and hot dry sand,
That had forgotten since long
They had witnessed-
A Life so dear.

There in that Advanced Civilized Planet
Did rise a Phoenix from the Ashes
Having green memories and the seven colors
Of Heaven in her Eyes,
Did she shed a dropp of tear,
Worth so dear -
That turned the Oceans blue again,
With currents back to their innocent symphony,
With lands shivering in the joy of Spring,

Someday we Hope-
Somewhere out there
Shall we meet our friend - our Phoenix
That will save our Earth.
