Phoenix Poem by anya le roux

Phoenix

I'm not to die.
I am to live - you would not get it.
I've got accustomed to this pain -
The pins and needles in my brain.
My heart was washed away with rain -
It is still raining.

The problem was:
My talisman was left somewhere.
I was so desperate to die,
I had no strength to shout, to cry,
My death has kissed me passing by -
I am still here.

There is a light.
The light in me: there is a splendour over thee:
The blaze is burning all my pain, all my desire.
I've set the fire to your eyes,
To all your words, to all your cries...
And even words you did not cry
Are in that fire.

I've set the fire to your eyes,
To all your words, to all your cries...
And even words you did not cry
Are in that fire.
