Picture Of Mother Poem by Joyce Hemsley

Picture Of Mother

Years ago she lived with beauty
Radiance shone from her dear face
She walked and talked with elegance
With sweet gentleness and grace.
Those eyes they glowed like stardust
The colour of a deep blue sea
She was in love with a life of fruitfulness
And days of youthful gaiety.

Sadly, age has stolen her beauty away
Radiance has gone from her face
She never walks and she never talks
Her life is a vacant space... but if you
Gaze at the old-fashioned pictures
You will capture a moment of truth
My mother and her dignified beauty
In the silver days of her youth.
