Pig In The Marmalade Poem by Jon Chesterson

Pig In The Marmalade

Rating: 5.0

Here is the camp that John made.

Here is the marmalade
found at the camp that John made.

Here flies the pig in the marmalade
found at the camp that John made!

Here cry the babes
scathed by the pig in the marmalade
found at the camp that John made!

Here are the kids
that played with the babes who cried
scathed by the pig in the marmalade
found at the camp that John made!

Here hangs the fence and the wire
that hid the kids that played with the babes
scathed by the pig in the marmalade
found at the camp that John made!

Here is the island shire
that lay beyond the fence and the wire
that hid the kids that played with the babes
scathed by the pig in the marmalade
found at the camp that John made!

Here is the woman and family that prayed for their life
that came to the island shire
that lay beyond the fence and the wire
that hid the kids that played with the babes
scathed by the pig in the marmalade
found at the camp that John made!

Here is the man, the refugee that paid the boat
to be with woman and family that prayed for their life
that came to the island shire
that lay beyond the fence and the wire
that hid the kids that played with the babes
scathed by the pig in the marmalade
found at the camp that John made!

Here stands the girl in tears at the camp,
OH WHAT A DIDDLE sweet serenade!
She arrived with the man, the refugee that paid the boat
to be with woman and family that prayed for their life
that came to the island shire
that lay beyond the fence and the wire
that hid the kids that played with the babes who cried
scathed by the pig in the marmalade
found at the camp that John made!

Here lies the boy swept off the deck and drowned at sea
who knew the girl in tears at the camp,
OH WHAT A DIDDLE sweet serenade!
She arrived with the man, the refugee that paid the boat
to be with woman and family that prayed for their life
that came to the island shire
that lay beyond the fence and the wire
that hid the kids that played with the babes
scathed by the pig in the marmalade
found at the camp that John made!

Here sails the boatman all sullied in trade
that shook the boy swept off the deck and drowned at sea
who knew the girl in tears at the camp,
OH WHAT A DIDDLE sweet serenade!
She arrived with the man, the refugee that paid the boat
to be with woman and family that prayed for their life
that came to the island shire
that lay beyond the fence and the wire
that hid the kids that played with the babes
scathed by the pig in the marmalade
found at the camp that John made!

Here falls the province all bombed and decayed
that bullied the boatman all sullied in trade
that shook the boy swept off the deck and drowned at sea
who knew the girl in tears at the camp,
OH WHAT A DIDDLE sweet serenade!
She arrived with the man, the refugee that paid the boat
to be with woman and family that prayed for their life
that came to the island shire
that lay beyond the fence and the wire
that hid the kids that played with the babes
scathed by the pig in the marmalade
found at the camp that John made!

Here rage injustice and malice sweet masquerade!
To sack the province all bombed and decayed
that bullied the boatman all sullied in trade
that shook the boy swept off the deck and drowned at sea
who knew the girl in tears at the camp,
OH WHAT A DIDDLE sweet serenade!
She arrived with the man, the refugee that paid the boat
to be with woman and family that prayed for their life
that came to the island shire
that lay beyond the fence and the wire
that hid the kids that played with the babes
scathed by the pig in the marmalade
found at the camp that John made!

Here is our offshore detention and aid
with injustice and malice, sweet masquerade
to sack the province all bombed and decayed
that bullied the boatman all sullied in trade
that shook the boy swept off the deck and drowned at sea
who knew the girl in tears at the camp,
OH WHAT A DIDDLE sweet serenade!
She arrived with the man, the refugee that paid the boat
to be with woman and family that prayed for their life
that came to the island shire
that lay beyond the fence and the wire
that hid the kids that played with the babes
scathed by the pig in the marmalade
found at the camp that John made!

Here comes the minister who scoffed and lied,
telling porkies of offshore detention and aid
with injustice and malice, sweet masquerade
to sack the province all bombed and decayed
that bullied the boatman all sullied in trade
that shook the boy swept off the deck and drowned at sea
who knew the girl in tears at the camp,
OH WHAT A DIDDLE sweet serenade!
She arrived with the man, the refugee that paid the boat
to be with woman and family that prayed for their life
that came to the island shire
that lay beyond the fence and the wire
that hid the kids that played with the babes
scathed by the pig in the marmalade
found at the camp that John made!

Here sits the judge all toffee and fudge!
That dined with the minister who scoffed and lied,
telling porkies of offshore detention and aid
with injustice and malice, sweet masquerade
to sack the province all bombed and decayed
that bullied the boatman all sullied in trade
that shook the boy swept off the deck and drowned at sea
who knew the girl in tears at the camp,
OH WHAT A DIDDLE sweet serenade!
She arrived with the man, the refugee that paid the boat
to be with woman and family that prayed for their life
that came to the island shire
that lay beyond the fence and the wire
that hid the kids that played with the babes
scathed by the pig in the marmalade
found at the camp that John made!

And here are the people jury and jaded
that cried at the judge all toffee and fudge
that dined with the minister who scoffed and lied,
telling porkies of offshore detention and aid
with injustice and malice, sweet masquerade
to sack the province all bombed and decayed
that bullied the boatman all sullied in trade
that shook the boy swept off the deck and drowned at sea
who knew the girl in tears at the camp,
OH WHAT A DIDDLE sweet serenade!
She arrived with the man, the refugee that paid the boat
to be with woman* and family that prayed for their life
that came to the island shire
that lay beyond the fence and the wire
that hid the kids that played with the babes who cried
scathed by the pig in the marmalade
found at the camp that John made!

That is enough...

Here is the maid who buried her fiddle,
DIDDLE-DE-DUM sweet serenade.
Here is the planet the universe made,
here is the island shire
and here are the pigs in the marmalade
toasting the life, that sweet sweet life
beyond the camp that John made!

And here is the cash cow a heavenly sum
to bite the maid who buried her fiddle,
oh what a riddle DIDDLE-DE-DUM-DE-DUM!
So hush sweet serenade let them stay
for here are the babes, the girl, the boy,
the woman, the man, the family
the kids who made it, 'HOO-HOO-HOORAY! '

Now where is the rhyme to catch the crime
to cash the cow of a heavenly sum
to bite the maid who buried her fiddle?
Where is the diddle my sweet serenade
that makes us so bitterly cruel and numb?
Oh mine is the pig in the marmalade
 sir,
found at the camp that John made!

Beautiful sonorous piece of poetry elegantly embellished in poetic rhythm with a tinge of humour. A well drafted and nicely composed poem. Great work! Thanks for sharing Jon.
