Pillar Of Salt Poem by Michael Walker

Pillar Of Salt

Rating: 5.0

Like a phoenix from the ashes,
The scales fall from my eyes,
And I'd bear a thousand lashes
Just to see your spirit rise,

Yet since you turned, it is your fault
You turn into a pillar of salt!

But I can't turn to see you,
Nor can I turn away,
For my gaze cannot free you
From the slavery that holds sway,

Yet since you turned, it is your fault
You turn into a pillar of salt!

Forever I go forward
To leave the lies behind,
For all that I am headed toward
Is just seen by the blind,

Yet since you turned, it is your fault
You turned into a pillar of salt!

Grab that pillar and carry it away. You won't need to buy salt for many a day!
