Pink Petunias Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Pink Petunias

I am inspired by exuberant pink petunias
growing vigorously with a wonderful scent
in a narrow crack between a rough brick wall
and sun drench gray concrete pavement

The strange location is most undesirable
It was not planned or voted upon to elect
Simply stray seeds scattered by the wind…
flourishing as though the space was perfect

A result of happenstance… refusing to succumb
Displaying amazing perseverance and vitality
Turning hopelessness into extreme beauty...
finding a reason for being…despite the rude locality
