Pink Thunderstorms Poem by nisha dyrene

Pink Thunderstorms

When your storm breaks over me
lets lightening flash
And pour rain on the ground
Drenching me
In heavy mist
Water running
Over my cheek
As your long silver fingers
Touch
My eyelashes and catch
What’s left of the sparkles
Drops of rain nectar slipping between
My lips
Cooling my tongue
Trickling down
My throat
Dampening
My shoulder
And making a navel pool
That you come and sip from

Then you smile
Your sunny smile
Hooded eyes
Warm and darkening
Letting the sunlight caress
Your shoulder
Dapple your back
Steal my breath
As you take me
Up
Into the sky and drop
Me a thousand kisses deep
Into your arms
Safe

We lie in shades of the setting sun
Letting this strange afternoon rain
That brings damp kisses
Wash over us
And paint us in pink love
