Pit Of Hell Poem by Michelle Tiddy

Pit Of Hell

Rating: 5.0

What will ease your aching heart?
What can I do to show you
That there is a person inside you
Worth living, worth dancing, worth dreaming

Lots of demons with scales and horns
And smoke rising from their nostrils
Taunt you, taint you, make you disbelieve
Reach really down, right down, to the bottom

For this is where you are at.
Only by touching it and finding it
Can you slowly begin to rise again
A ghost, a phantom, then why are you here?

Why do you feel so ill with yourself
Why does your faith quiver with every
Shiver that life has thrown at you
Is there no way out? None at all?

I can't believe that, for surely
as long as there is a pebble on the shore
A sun and moon in the sky
And tiny stars, there is a way, a path

So, stop turning within and hurting yourself
Because that will push you lower and lower
Until the stairs to climb are out of reach
That is not a place I want for you.

For anyone.
