Place Of Honor Poem by Linda Engwall

Place Of Honor

Spinning around
Always wishing for something different
Hoping for me to finally, fully emerge

Front and center
This place of honor
In my life

No one else deserves
That top spot
I finally realize but me

Doesn’t mean everyone else
Matters less
Placing the priority where it has to be
For each of us is necessary I believe

Learning to do this
Take care of me
Seems so foreign at first

Can’t you see how much
I will have left to give
When my house is in order,
My peace found
Living authentically

I will truly know this is the best it can be
