Play Occurred Today Poem by Thomas Adams

Play Occurred Today

Follow me as I recite this, 'Play Occurred Today'.
Act one stars 'Parch' my throat and 'Love' the
goodly price I pay. Tis 'Ache' and 'Itch' mere
standing in, now 'Pour' my soul to fill. And 'Not'
to tell someone of them might quiz me on my will.
With 'Legs' be standing up and 'Tall' and 'Strong'
my shoulders weight. Now pass I by my act of two
and stumble toward my fate. With all these ones that star
in 'Play' act three stands incomplete; The cast is poised,
the curtain raised and no one spares their seat.
You see I'm 'Stop', the leading man and 'Troubled' in act of three,
for thou dost view astride the door, too far away to see.
Now I shant act my part in 'Play' with 'Prop' or 'Net'
to care - till up you dance upon this stage and act out
with me here. My dear you'll see a rave review,
'Such loving parts they played', when you joined in
and broke a leg in 'Play Occurred Today'!
