Playing The Game Poem by shell Zane

Playing The Game

Rating: 5.0

At first you pause and then you say
Remember how it was that day?
I turn away to hide my smile
And thought what my heart had to pay

Remember when you saw me last
A heart broken crumbled mass
Hurt so deep I begged to die
Feeling your love was just a lie

Never again I tell myself
Hold that pain inside my brain
Numbness will keep me sane

I turn to you and walk away
This time your heart will have to pay
