Please... - Poem by Kim Hutson

Please don't lie to me
it hurts.
It hurt
when you lied to me before
when you said you were bored
but actually you were having fun.

Please don't promise me things
just to placate me
just to see me smile
for that one moment
until it never happens.
Ever.

Please don't shout
just because you're tired
because work was bad.
Because work is bad every day.
I dont like being shouted at every day.
Ever.

Please be true.
Please don't promise
or shout.
please respect me
and be how you were before.
Please.

    so sincere
    dealing with relationships
    how difficult they can be
    how sometimes all feels lost
yet the other sometimes makes a surprise
    and tenderness appears
    a lovely poem
