Please Let Me Poem by Matthew Conkling

Please Let Me

Rating: 5.0

I just need to

have no feelings

so I won't have to keep repeating

the mistakes that I made

to care about all the hate

so I can keep myself from stealing

My light, my light

The happiness is fleeting

My world receding

nothing even matters anymore

Can't take another hit

Don't have another swig

but this might not endure

I just need to

have no feelings

so I won't have to keep repeating

the mistakes that I made

to care about all the hate

so I can keep myself from stealing

My light, my light

The sadness in life

mixed with all the strife

makes me anxious and unsure

so please help me god

save this poor sod

from what you have in store

I just need to

have no feelings

so I won't have to keep repeating

the mistakes that I made

to care about all the hate

so I can keep myself from stealing

My light, my light

I just don't understand

the problem at hand

I'm just a nuisance am I right

I mean honestly

why can't you see

the pointlessness for me to survive

I just need to

have no feelings

so I won't have to keep repeating

the mistakes that I made

to care about all the hate

so I can keep myself from stealing

My light, my light

So please oh please

just let me leave

this plane of existence I writhe upon

Don't make me stay

It's just better this way

let me end it tonight
