Pledge Poem by Hans Raj Sharma

Pledge

World health day
A word of honour
Pledging the day
Running a race
For never be it late
Getting-
On your mark
Get set and go
Take it easy
And slow
Be patient
And explore.

World health day
A word of honour
Pledging the day
For learning
To listen to
Even and odds
Running before
One runs the race
Good judges' say
The best way
Gaining or losing
Always a choice
Choice with the one
That runs the race.

World health day
A word of honour
Pledging the day
For health sake
Whilst at work
Forget not to rest
Rest a week
For a day or two
Taking some
Running breaks.

World health day
A word of honour
Pledging the day
For it doesn't take
Too much to run
Run the race
A single pair
Pair of shoes
The rest it finds
Here and there
In books
Apps or blogs
Online, also a lot.

World health day
A word of honour
Pledging the day
Keeping
The progress up
And going go
Ensuring
One step forward
At a time
And keep it up
Putting entire being
Its energies physical
Mental
Emotional and spiritual
Coming out all together.

World health day
A word of honour
Pledging the day
Sensing
Intent and attitude
For working out
With both
Hot and cold
Every way-
Making thereby
Sagacity and surprise.
