Plodding Ever-Deeper Poem by Emmanuel George Cefai

Plodding Ever-Deeper

They were plodding
Plodding in ever-deeper waters
Plodding in the night
Their feet elongating with every pace
With every plodding
Huge figures after plodding
More huge in as proportion direct
To every plodding:
Hemorrhage of black earth
Black soil black peat
Black moor land
Burying
Spears tall
And stuck in that desolate
Land of lands
Stuck in the waters
Where
Floated
The stars and
The moon
An night itself\where
Round
Round
Round
Went the ghosts
The skeletons
The shrouds
Putrid was he heat of sickness
Throbbed blood drops in the head.

The stroke was made
The dice was thrown
The waters murky floated of a
Sudden
Through the Renaissance
Gratings
Star-moon white lights permeated.

The Mind Brain was less unstable with every pace

Lights that came and went without a lid of fear.
