Pluck To Enter Wedlock Poem by Mailrangam Visvanathan Venkataraman

Pluck To Enter Wedlock

I am not at all married
I have reached that age
I have in it no liking
I prefer being only alone

In this complex world
Carefree sexual urge
Might pluck one's life
Due to promiscuity

Shaw only made a comment
That to have just one book
One need not own a library
That idea may sound wise

Family life, some really fear
As they develop anxiety
He who has no wealth or
Health must not marry

No wealth leads to poverty
No health spoils offspring
Both are giving wrong results
So being single is the safest

Starting a family just like that
Is like carrying a huge bomb
Lots of precautions are needed
As it affects too many lives.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Never marry just like that, As only sorrow you will get, Marrying for the sake of society, Will cancel stability, With no money, Life may turn thorny, If health is missing, How can you happily sing? So marry after planning, And also after full scanning.
