Poem Poem by John W. McEwers

Poem

You put me on the spot
I had to say something, anything
to get you to like me,
but I'm sure I failed
acting coy beneath a blanket
like I was scared of the dark...
some little boy next to you in bed
some harmless little boy
some harmless little word
that meant nothing
crept under the covers
with you.
