Poem For A Friend Poem by Aidan Clevinger

Poem For A Friend

In years past I kept my own council,
Dependence was for other fools.
But now I find that things have changed,
My circumstances re-arranged,
And when there was no more I could do,
I turned to you.

I never thought I'd need a friend,
I've always been self-sufficient.
But then I needed a shoulder to cry on,
I needed someone to rely on,
And much to my surprise,
I found relief in your eyes.

You'll never know how much it means,
To have a friend like you.
Thanks to you, all day long,
I know there's somewhere I belong.
And so, until my life ends,
I'll be grateful for you, my dearest friend.

A wonderful tribute to a friend. Friends are blessings, and you state that so well here.
