Poem to Boomer
How sweet this poem is
Remembering brighter days
When Boomer sniffed the fresh dawn's dew
And basked in the sun's golden rays.
Oh how we loved your morning kisses
With your damp nose and tongue on our face
And your stub tail wagging and a smile so clear
As if demanding our daily embrace.
You were the soul of our wonderful home
With your fierce loyalty and glowing eyes
Rousing attention with your affirmative bark
Your loving nature was no disguise.
Now as we reflect on your canine virtues
With your ears held back and your stoic gaze
Sitting patient, wise, happy and proud
Knowing you brought us those ' brighter days'!
