Poetry Speaks To Me Poem by Kenneth Maswabi

Poetry Speaks To Me

Using everyday language
Poetry speaks to me
Through the awareness of the spirit
Poetry speaks to me
Through the cord of Silence
Poetry speaks to me
Inside the cubicle of despair
Poetry speaks to me
Along the path of my madness
Poetry speaks to me
At the centre of my confusion
Poetry speaks to me
Through the eyes of peace
Poetry speaks to me
Outside the gates of logic
Poetry speaks to me
Inside the tunnel of Hope
Poetry speaks to me
In the vastness of my imagination
Poetry speaks to me
Away from the prying eyes of hatred
Poetry speaks to me
It is almost impossible to hear the words of Poetry
Inside the labyrinth of logic and reason
The matrix of knowledge is offensive to the cord of Silence
The volume of uncertainty is obstructive to the path of Light
The level of anguish is visible to the eyes of Poetry
But the wall of ego is prohibitive to the spirit of Poetry
Unless one learns to put on the garment of Silence
The voice of Spirit poetry will remain elusive
